Event: 35th Consecutive Juneteenth Festival of Buffalo
Date: Saturday June 19 & Sunday June 20, 2010
Place: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park
Mark your calendars now!!! Don’t miss out!!! Parade begins at 11:00 AM sharp. The parade starts at Genesee & Moselle Streets. Parade will proceed down Genesee into the park.
Saturday Schedule:
Praise & Worship 9:00am – 11:00am
11:00am SHARP Parade
Followed by Festivities in Park until 8:00pm
Sunday Schedule:
Praise & Worship 10:00am – 12:00noon
Followed by Festivities in Park until 8:00pm
Festival includes Main Entertainment Stage, vendors, Health Pavilion, Book Fair, free Underground Railroad Tours, Children Activities tent, Health Pavilion, Family Portrait Booth, Jab Fair, African Drum and Dance lessons, a Heritage Tent and more.
Come and enjoy a fun filled weekend for the entire family. The Juneteenth Festival is the third largest festival of its kind in the country. Its mission is to “actively preserve and promote the broad spectrum of the African American heritage through educational and cultural activities that will benefit the community as a whole.”

Pre Festival Events
June 5 - Run for Health: Run will start at the William/Emsile YMCA. Fun Run for Children begins at 9:00 AM. 5K (3.1) mile run begins at 9:30.
June 12 - Get On Da Bus: Juneteenth Headquarters - 1517 Genesee Street. Meet at 3:30 PM Bus departs at 4:00 and returns at 7:00 pm. Sponsored by the Tradition Keepers. This is a journey to many important sites in the city with story telling. Donation is $12.00 includes bus ride, program, and light refreshments.
